Narrative

One person died following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 48 in Rice Lake before 8 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29th. The Barron County Sheriff’s Department said the driver of Traffic Unit 1 lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median, and collided with Traffic Unit 2. The driver of Traffic Unit 2, a 50-year-old man, was unharmed. The driver of Traffic Unit 1, a 23-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Weather conditions appear to be a contributing factor in the crash.
