BROOKFIELD, WI – A multi-vehicle wrong-way crash along the highway in north-eastern Waukesha County killed one person and injured tw0 others on Wednesday.
The incident happened just after 12:50 p.m. on Capitol Drive, which runs east to west through the city of Brookfield.
The investigation thus far indicates that a westbound driver her 40s entered the eastbound lanes of traffic on Capitol Drive and collided with three eastbound vehicles.
The woman, identified as Amy Hiley, died at the scene despite receiving CPR.
Medics transported two other drivers to a local hospital with non-critical injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
