Narrative
CLEAR LAKE, WI – One person died, and two others were hurt Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi in southeastern Polk County.
The incident occurred at 4:55 p.m. at the intersection of WI-63 and 60th Avenue in the town of Clear Lake.
Police say that the driver of a westbound vehicle failed to heed a stop sign and entered the path of a northbound 18-wheeler carrying fuel. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, causing the semi to overturn.
The driver of the car died after transport to a local hospital. Authorities have not yet released their identity to the public.
Two others from the car went to the hospital, one with critical injuries and the other in stable condition.
The driver of the semi truck sustained only minor injuries. It is unclear if they required hospitalization.
A full investigation is underway.
