Narrative
MILWAUKEE, WI – A 4-year-old girl died, and her mom sustained injuries Tuesday when a vehicle struck them at a Milwaukee intersection.
The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Teutonia Avenue and West Vera Avenue, which is just west of Paley Tennis Center on the north side of the city.
Police say that Gloria Hymes and her daughter were crossing North Teutonia Avenue when the vehicle hit them, killing her young child at the scene. Hymes, 27, sustained serious injuries.
Authorities later located and arrested a suspect, called Crayton, whom they’ve identified as Hymes’ boyfriend. Crayton’s sister, who was a pedestrian in the vehicle, was also arrested. Police say the act may have been intentional.
The investigation is ongoing.
