Narrative
ELK MOUND, WI – Both a 16-year-old boy and a 50-year old man sustained serious injuries Saturday in an alleged DUI crash in Elk Mound.
The incident happened just before 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of WI-29 eastbound and 970th Street northbound, which is on the northeast outskirts of town.
Police say that a northbound pickup truck with two teen occupants ran a stop sign and crashed into an eastbound vehicle. The collision caused the pickup truck to ignite.
Medics airlifted one of the drivers to the hospital with critical injuries. The other driver sustained serious injuries and went to the hospital via ground ambulance.
The passenger in the pickup truck, also 16, did not sustain injuries in the accident.
