Narrative
MADISON, WI – An elderly woman died last Friday in a multi-vehicle crash along the interstate in northeast Madison.
The fatal collision occurred on the westbound side of I-94 near mile marker 136, which is near Churchill Heights Park and UW Health East Madison Hospital.
Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause of the accident or the manner in which the vehicles collided. They say two pickup trucks, a travel trailer, and an SUV were involved.
One person in the SUV, later identified as 89-year-old Leticia Regala, died after transport to an area hospital.
Two passengers from the SUV, one of the pickup truck drivers, and a passenger from a pickup went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
Medics transported the other pickup truck driver to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
